About GSI Outdoors
GSI opened its doors in 1985, after a small group of British Columbian siblings made their way down the West Coast to San Diego. Beginning with a few pieces of blue enamelware and a smattering of campfire accessories, GSI Outdoors grew through the years to include full design, manufacturing, sales, and marketing departments, all tasked with developing and marketing an ever-more-innovative line of outdoor cookware, tableware, and accessories. Siblings Don, Ian, and Kathy Scott eventually relocated to Spokane, Washington, where they continue to define innovation through the creation of unique, imaginative, and fun products that reassert their enthusiasm for the outdoors. GSI Outdoors is still a small, privately held company, with no obligation to shareholders, a corporate board, or anyone else aside from its customers and employees.

Sized similar to a very large tray, it is a perfect compact solution for 2. I have used this table on picnics, outdoor music festivals, on the beach and of course camping and RV-ing. The table consists of aluminum slats that are bungee-d together with the foldout legs permanently attached to the slats on each end. Once unfolded, there are 2 stainless rods that slide across through the slats through pre-drilled holes. These rods form the support for the table and have notches on both ends to secure the legs once they are folded out and also double as finger grips come packing time. The legs then fold out once to the first level (low table height) and again to the second level (approx coffee table height). As a result of this leg design, the first height is more sturdy than the second. To pack up the table, simply do everything in reverse: fold up the legs, pull out the support rods, and... With my short chair, this table worked perfectly; allowing me to make my meals, set a beer or a paperback book on, a lantern, or just about anything you don't want to set in the dirt. With a little 3x4 foot shelf liner I use as a foot tarp, I was set to keep everything out of the dirt. Very small and light weight, yet plenty of surface area for 2 people when we each set up a chair and shared the table. By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: GSI Outdoors Macro Table (Sports) I use this surface to elevate my portable coleman camping grill/stove. I elected to get this table vs their dedicated "stand". As the stand they make has reports of being wobbly. Plus, when you're done with the grill and put it away, the stand can't be used for anything else. This table can still be a useful surface for other things. So, this table is pretty solid, yet still lightweight by virtue of the aluminum. My only gripe is the assembly. You have to be patient as you have to insert two rods into holes in the slats to provide the rigid table top. The slats are held together with shock cord, making them easy to fold up accordion style. That said, the holes take a little time to line up as you push the rods through. It's not hard, you just need a little wiggling to line up the rods. Otherwise, the legs fold out easy. And there's an optional extension foldout on the legs. So, you have two heights...but nothing inbetween. A solid table, nice... Read more |
